Changing Neighborhoods Pressure Philadelphia Zoning Laws
Martin J. Doyle and Igor Pleskov, respectively a partner and associate in the Real Estate Practice, wrote this article, published in The Legal Intelligencer. The article discusses how recent population growth and an increase in residential real estate development are transforming Philadelphia’s zoning laws. Martin and Igor cite two recent cases, Jenkins v. City of Philadelphia and Chosen 300 Ministries v. City of Philadelphia Zoning Board of Adjustment, to illustrate the inconsistencies in zoning regulations and the difficulties that developers and city zoning officials face as a result of the community changes.
