Chris Collings represents clients in the food, nutrition, health care, pharmaceutical, medical device and a variety of other industries in consumer class actions, product liability and toxic tort litigation as well as general commercial litigation. His class action work includes helping businesses facing allegations of property damage, product mislabeling and deceptive trade practices. He defends clients in personal injury lawsuits that involve a range of products, from industrial machinery and automobiles to asbestos and silica. Clients facing allegations of breach of contract, consumer fraud and unfair trade practices also rely on him to handle litigation. In addition, he litigates patent, copyright and trademark infringement actions and other intellectual property disputes.
Chris's skill as a trial lawyer is built on a foundation of his past work in the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted violent repeat offenders as a member of the Career Criminal/Robbery Unit. In his three years there, he tried a dozen cases to jury verdict and many more to verdict before judges, obtaining convictions for serious criminal offenses. He currently handles cases in both state and federal courts.
