Amy E. McCall

Amy Elizabeth McCall assists institutions of higher education with compliance and operational issues. Her experience includes handling both investigations and policy work involving Title IX, the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act. She also handles contract review and negotiations, including those involving software, and provides advice on labor and employment issues.

Amy provides general counsel for colleges and universities the perspective of an attorney who has worked in both private practice and in-house at three universities. When she was in-house, she worked closely with outside counsel on internal investigations involving the institutions’ compliance with the Clery Act, as well as the development of policies and programs for Title IX/OCR compliance. She also brings an appreciation for the operational challenges involved in running a fledgling in-house office from her experience serving in a newly formed Office of General Counsel for a major state university and from becoming the first general counsel for a small private university.
